Purpose and Activities

Bukkyo Dendo Kyokai’s purpose is to promote the Buddhist spirit of compassion and coexistence, which is the basis of Japanese culture, support academic activities, disseminate modern understandings of Buddhism, cultivate a richer humanity through global enlightenment projects, develop the betterment of society, and thereby contribute to the happiness of humankind and the realization of world peace.   

 In order to achieve our purpose, we have established the following activities:

1. Compiling and disseminating Buddhist scriptures translated into modern foreign languages.
    
2. Providing grants and awards for promoting the Buddhist spirit and its cultures and advancing its academic understanding.   
    
3. Sponsoring enlightening projects and activities regarding the Buddhist spirit and the rise of its cultures.   
    
4. Letting out facilities.
    
5. Engaging in other activities essential for the realization of the purposes of this organization.
